The operational unit

The mission of the CNR -  SuPerconducting and other INnovative materials and devices institute - (SPIN) is the study of innovative materials and their application in the fields of electronics and energy.

 The Main activities of the Naples headquarters of CNR-SPIN are:

  • Growth and characterization of epitaxial thin film and heterostructures;
  • Electronic, magnetic and superconducting properties of 2D electron gases at oxide interfaces;
  • Superconducting Quantum Hybrid Devices;
  • Conjugated organic materials and electronics applications;
  • Superconducting Single-Photon Detectors for Quantum Communication;
  • Theoretical investigation of physical properties of nanomaterials, hetero-structures, and complex systems.
